A picture is worth a thousand words. So we have uploaded many pictures taken at Gajanan Maharaj Mandir Mahim.

This mandir is worth a visit once.

Gajanan Maharaj Padukas and Murti is placed in the cellar below and above is a Ram Mandir with ram, laxman, sita and hanuman murtis aligned just the way they are at shegaon. The Gajanan Maharaj Murti is a 3 feet murti in its bright self, giving blessings to all the devotees.

The development of the mandir was not an easy task for Shri Vasant Gogate (bhaumaharaj). After many a hurdles, the development of this temple was completed. But due to his perseverance and persistence, gajanan maharaj got this work completed from him.

Bhau Maharaj’s thought for building a Gajanan Maharaj Mandir came from the fact that there were not many Gajanan Maharaj temples in and around Mumbai a while back. So people had to travel all the way to shegaon for the darshan of Shr iGajanan Maharaj. The thought of this made him impatient and he knew it very early that peace to his mind would not be achieved before the development of this mandir was started. A close friend of his told him that, a 180 years old ram mandir was situated near saraswat colony at Mahim and also asked him to visit that place and consider it for the development of the temple.Vasant Gogate without wasting any time, started to work towards his goal of building the temple. Never did he fall short of manpower or monetary help for the work of this mandir. On completion of the work the sthapanas of the padukaswere done by Shri Vasant Gogate and his late wife Sau Vrushali Gogate. The murtistapana was done by Shri Jayantrao Salgaonkar.

The redevelopment work for the mandir is completed in the year 2012-2013.

It won’t be fair to not recognize the efforts of Shiram lele, Jayant Tipnis, Bhai Savnis. The mandir that stands at mahim is only because of the blessings of Shri Gajanan Maharaj.

We urge all the devotees to pay a visit at least once.
